TRAFFIC ALERT: Several Areas Are Iced Over or Have Black Ice on the Roads

Roadways are in bad shape in several areas. Woodstock police shut down eastbound Route 14 at Doty Road until snow plows can treat the roads. Road conditions are being called "a sheet of ice" along with other regions.

I-80/94 eastbound and westbound from the state line to I-65 is described as black ice.

Wheeling police shut down Milwaukee Avenue north of Palatine Road about 9:52 a.m. Saturday because of bad road conditions.

At sunrise and through the morning there were several crashes on the Tri-State, especially near Townline Road and Route 60. At least two crashes into retainer walls, a jackknifed truck, and a Comcast van on it's side.
